I love smoking blunts. You love smoking blunts. We all love smoking blunts.

They're slower-burning, richer in flavor and smoother in pull than paper-wrapped pre-rolls. Blunts just make for a great sesh.

But rolling a blunt? Well, that's a different story. It takes skill, practice and patience to master the art of blunt rolling. Plus, it's messy and the classic way of splitting a cigar and using the wrapper can come with all sorts of complications stemming from the tobacco and nicotine in the leaf.

And if you're rocking some hot modern manicure or nail game, that's going to make it even more difficult.

    So what's a modern blunt-lover to do?

Easy, just pack a pre-rolled blunt tube, like Fill-a Blunts pre-rolled hemp wrap blunt tubes.

Fill-a Blunts take all the stress out of the modern blunt session. Not only are they made with 100% European tobacco-free hemp, but they are already pre-rolled and fitted with a filter tip that keeps the hemp wrap from getting gross or tearing as you pass them around the circle.

They taste great, burn evenly and the addition of premium filter tip ups the ante.

So how do you pack a Fill-a Blunt pre-rolled blunt tube? Believe it or not, it's even easier than you think, and there a bunch of ways to go about it.

It All Start with the Grind

Before we get to the actual packing, let's start with the basics: first grind your flower.

A consistent particle size is going to be key to getting a good, even pack in your pre-rolled blunt tube, so pick a grinder you like and trust (I'm a big fan of the Flower Mill, for example, because of the way it rolls the flower through a screen, destroying fewer terpenes and cannabinoids while keeping the stems out of your grind) and get your flower ready to be packed.

Grinding your flower, particularly with a non-toothed grinder like a Flower Mill or Stache Grinder, will also help prevent large pieces of stem from tearing your hemp wrap blunt tubes while packing.

Fill-a Blunts come in two sizes – 1-gram or 2-gram tubes – so make sure you grind up enough flower to fit into whatever size blunt tube you're looking to smoke.

Once your flower is prepped and ready, it's time to get packing.

How to Pack a Pre-Rolled Blunt Tube by Hand

So the most common way to pack a pre-rolled hemp wrap blunt tube is by hand, which is still easier and takes less time than rolling up.

First, dump your ground flower onto your rolling tray so you can get at it with your hands and with the pre-rolled blunt tube. Now, give it a quick eyeball check to make sure there aren't any stems sticking out that might damage the hemp wrap.

Next, make sure your pre-rolled blunt tube is ready to be packed. With a Fill-a Blunts, that just means pulling the paper insert out of tube. Done? Cool, we're ready to pack that tube.

Start by putting a small amount of flower into the pre-rolled blunt tube, either by pinching it and dropping it in, or by using the tube itself to scoop up some of your flower. Don't put too much in at first, just about a millimeter or two's worth.

Now, tamp that down. This part is key. Getting a good pack at the bottom, down near the filter tip, is going to prevent your pre-rolled blunt from getting floppy and set you up for an even-burning, smooth-smoking blunt. So it should be tight, but not solid, as you still need to pull through this.

Once this foundation is in place, start adding more flower to the tube in relatively small increments. Either pinch and drop or simply scoop with the tube, but be sure to tamp down the flower with each section, making sure it's even spread out evenly through the pre-rolled tube before adding more.

That's it; just continue adding flower and tamping it down until your Fill-a Blunts pre-rolled blunt tube is full and ready to smoke.

    The Dutch Crown Finish

The best and easiest way to finish off a pre-rolled blunt tube is with a simple Dutch Crown style closure. It will keep your flower from falling out during transport and lighting and help you get an even light that won't canoe, or run down one side of your blunt tube.

A Dutch Crown finish is simply an overlapping, folded top and can be done quickly with your tamping stick.

First things first: to create a Dutch Crown finish you need to leave a few millimeters of your blunt tube unfilled; not a lot, just enough to fold over. Next, you will need to moisten that section of hemp wrap to make it more pliable. Your hemp wrap is mostly held together by the bonds between the water molecules and when those dry out, the hemp wrap gets brittle and crumbles. A quick hit of moisture – from a sponge, your finger or even a quick lick – will add back in enough moisture to allow you to fold the hemp wrap without it falling apart.

Now take your tamping tool and press ¼ to 1/3 of the wrap to fold it on top of the packed flower. Once folded, give your tool a little twist to crease the wrap and hold it in place. Then, rotate the blunt tube and repeat until all of the hemp wrap has been folded over and your pre-rolled blunt is fully closed.

Voila. Time to fire it up!

Packing a Pre-Rolled Blunt Tube with the Fast Fill Rolling Tray

While easy enough, packing your Fill-a Blunts pre-rolled blunt tubes by hand can be a bit of a process and there are a few ways to speed it up.

One way to speed up packing your pre-rolled blunt tubes – or any pre-rolled cones or tubes for that matter – is the Fast Fill Rolling Tray. This handy device is a small, portable rolling tray with legs built in and two holes drilled through the top. The holes hold either the pre-rolled cone funnels that come with it (in two sizes) or one of the handy tube conversion kits that keep your pre-rolled tubes in place.

For a pre-rolled hemp wrap blunt tube, like a Fill-a Blunts, you're going to need the tube filler attachment. Which size? Well, for the 1-gram Fill-a Blunts, you'll need the 9mm tube filler attachment. For the Fill-a Blunts 2-Gram Fatty, pick up the 11mm tube filler attachment. (There's also an 8mm tube filler attachment for filling Artisan Tubes, including the pre-rolled blunt-style pink and green hybrid hemp wrap artisan tubes.)

Just insert the tube filler attachment into the tray, drop your pre-rolled blunt tube into the attachment and then dump your ground flower onto the Fast Fill tray itself. Using the including brush and tamping tool, simply sweep your flower into the attachment's opening and tamp it down.

Again, start with a small amount to build a decent foundation, and then fill and tamp larger amounts – remembering to make sure it's as even as you can get it – until your blunt is full and ready to be smoked. Pop out the tube attachment, pull out your blunt and find a lighter.

Whatever flower is left can stay on your tray until next time, or just be brushed back into your jar or bag or whatever.

So you can do it by hand or with the Fast Fill, but the fastest and easiest way to pack a pre-rolled blunt tube (or anything else) is the Perfect Pack 2 Joint-Filling Machine.

Designed specifically for cannabis, the Perfect Pack 2 is a portable, electronic machine that fills pre-rolled cones or tubes – including Fill-a Blunts hemp wrap pre-rolled blunt tubes – in just seconds with the push of a button.

That's it. In less than 10 seconds, you'll be ready to light up.

It comes in two different colors to match whatever your style is and is completely portable, running on either batteries or through a USB-C cable that can even plug directly into a smartphone.

There is literally no easier way to fill a pre-rolled blunt, or any other pre-roll.
